Talent: Web Visitors & Anonymous Traffic Tracking
Talent → Web Visitors
The Web Visitors section gives you visibility into who’s showing up on your career site - even before they raise their hand.
This is Boostie’s view into anonymous traffic. You’ll see how external sources like email campaigns, social posts, and direct traffic are driving visits to your site, and how those visits eventually convert into known candidates.
Think of this as the top of the funnel, before an apply or job alerts happen.
How to Access Web Visitors
- From the left-hand navigation, click Talent
- From the top middle navigation, click Web Visitors
You’ll land on a full list of recent website visitors, organized by IP address.

What You’re Seeing
Anonymous Visitor Tracking (By IP Address)
Each row represents a unique visitor identified by IP address. For every visitor, Boostie tracks:
- Last Visit
- Total Visits
- Page Views
- Operating System & Device
- Channel (Email, Social, Direct, etc.)
- Approximate Location
This data helps you understand where your inbound traffic is coming from and how people are engaging with your career site before converting.
Known vs. Unknown Visitors
When the Visitor Is Still Anonymous
If a visitor has not applied or hasn’t submitted contact information, they’ll remain listed as a Web Visitor.

You’ll still see:
- Full activity history
- Pages viewed
- Apply page views
- Traffic source and medium
This is especially useful for measuring the impact of outbound campaigns and external traffic sources.
When a Visitor Converts to a Person
Once a visitor applies for a job or completes a job alerts action (name, email, phone, etc.), Boostie automatically resolves that anonymous activity into a known Person record.

When you click the IP address:
- The Person record opens
- All historical website activity tied to that IP is preserved
- Activity is now associated with the candidate/applicant
This Person record is the same format used across Boostie, so activity stays consistent no matter where you’re working in the platform.
Activity Timeline
Both Web Visitor and Person records show a full activity timeline, including:
- Session start and end times
- Page views
- Apply page views
- Job applications
- Source and medium attribution
This gives you a clear picture of how someone moved from interest → engagement → application.
Why This Matters
Web Visitors helps you:
- Understand which external sources are driving real traffic
- See how anonymous visitors behave before applying
- Connect the dots between marketing efforts and candidate conversion
- Build insight into the earliest stages of your talent funnel
Today, this view is powered by IP-based tracking. Over time, this lays the foundation for more advanced insights into anonymous-to-known conversion.
Pro Tip
If you’re investing in email campaigns, social promotion, or paid traffic, Web Visitors is where you validate whether those efforts are actually bringing people to your site - not just clicks, but real engagement.
