Email Applicant Intake: Capture Applicants from Any Email Inbox
What Is Email Applicant Intake?
Email Applicant Intake lets you route applicant submissions into Boostie - and through to your ATS - via email, without sending candidates through the standard apply page. It's designed for situations where an applicant's information arrives by email: a referral forwarded from a client, a resume emailed directly to your careers inbox, or a submission through a partner channel.
Boostie's AI reads the incoming email, extracts the applicant details, and creates the record automatically. No strict template or formatting is required - as long as the required fields are present, Boostie handles the rest.
Where to find it: Apply in the left-hand navigation, then open Apply Settings. Scroll to the Email Applicant Intake section.

How It Works
Set up a dedicated inbox at your organization to receive applicant submissions - for example, apply@yourcompany.com. Configure that inbox to automatically forward incoming emails to application@boostie.com. When an email arrives, Boostie parses it, creates the applicant in Boostie under the specified job, and queues the record for ATS sync.
You can also use this channel directly: a recruiter at your company can email application@boostie.com with an applicant's details and resume to submit them on the spot.
Before You Start: Domain Matching
Boostie identifies which client account a submission belongs to by matching the sender's email domain against the domain on file for your account. For routing to work, the email domain of whoever sends (or forwards) to application@boostie.com must match the domain in your Primary Contact Email in Company Settings → Corporate.
Pro Tip: If you're testing by sending from your own email, make sure your Primary Contact Email in Corporate Settings uses the same domain. Boostie uses this match to route the submission to your account - mismatched domains will not be processed.
What to Include in the Email
Required fields
- Job ID - the ATS job ID for the role (the numeric ID from Bullhorn, Lever, or whichever ATS you use)
- Applicant's email address
- Resume - either as a file attachment (.pdf, .doc, .docx, or .txt) or as a direct URL in the email body
Optional fields
If present anywhere in the email, Boostie will also extract:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone
- LinkedIn URL
No specific template or formatting is required. Boostie's AI finds these fields wherever they appear in the email body.
What Happens After You Send
Boostie processes email submissions automatically - allow up to 5 minutes. Once processed:
- The applicant is added to Boostie under the specified job.
- Their record is queued for ATS sync - enrichment and ATS submission follow automatically.
- The applicant's Channel shows as API in the Recent Applicants view, making email-intake candidates easy to identify and filter.
Note: Email intake candidates do not receive the standard application confirmation email - they were not applying through the web apply page, so Boostie skips that step.
Why It Matters
Email Applicant Intake removes the friction of getting off-channel candidates into your pipeline. Whether it's a referral from a client, a walk-in at a branch, or a resume that landed in your careers inbox, you can get that applicant into Boostie and your ATS in seconds - no duplicate data entry, no manual ATS add, and no break in your tracking.
