Multiple Brands for Bullhorn: Setup & Brand-Level Settings

Run several brands from one Bullhorn database? Multiple Brands lets one Boostie account give each brand its own name, logo, colors, website tracking code and Boostie Board, with its own domain. Each brand's candidates only see that brand: its board, its jobs, and its name and logo on every email they get.

Best for: staffing firms with several brands or divisions working from a single Bullhorn instance.

How Multiple Brands Works

  • One account, one ATS: all brands share one Boostie account, one set of users and one Bullhorn connection.
  • Shared: Corporate Details (contact, address, time zone), categories, workflows, Job Apply Rules, Job Feeds and reporting are set once for the whole account.
  • Per brand: Branding Details (logo, colors, about description), Website Details (home page URL, job page URL, tracking code) and every Job Board Settings option (activation, design, layout, Marketing & SEO, Job Posting Settings) are set separately for each brand.
  • Jobs are assigned by Bullhorn: each job's brand comes from a Bullhorn field you map. Boostie matches the value to one of your brands on every sync.

Requirements

  • A Bullhorn connection. Multiple Brands is only available for Bullhorn accounts.
  • Multiple Brands is turned on when your Boostie account is created. An existing single-brand account can't be switched to multiple brands, and a multi-brand account can't be switched back.
  • Boostie Support adds, renames and removes brands for you. For each brand, Support sets the Brand Name candidates see and the Bullhorn Value that marks a job as belonging to that brand. Both must be unique across your brands.
  • Each brand gets its own board domain. A new brand starts on a default Boostie domain based on its name. Contact support@boostie.com to set up a custom domain such as jobs.yourbrand.com for each brand.

Step 1: Map the Brand Field in Bullhorn

Access path: Settings → Bullhorn, then edit your job field mappings.

  1. Open the job field mapping drawer. Multi-brand accounts see a Brand field.
  2. Select the Bullhorn job field that holds the brand, for example a customText field or a picklist. It must be a single-value field. Association fields can't be mapped.
  3. Click Save.

On every jobs sync, Boostie reads that field and matches it to each brand's Bullhorn Value. Matching ignores capitalization and extra spaces, so Acme IT matches acme it.

Jobs with No Brand

If a job's Bullhorn value is blank or doesn't match any brand, the job shows as No Brand. A No Brand job is never public:

  • No job page, no apply link, and it isn't listed on any brand's board
  • Not included in Job Feeds, job alerts or job match emails
  • Not sent to Google for Jobs, and no Boostie links are written back to Bullhorn

The job's Job Page tab explains that it has no brand, and the Apply Form tab reads "This job's brand value in Bullhorn doesn't match any of your brands, so it has no apply link." To fix it, set the job's brand field in Bullhorn. The job picks up its brand, job page and links on the next sync.

Pro Tip: When a new brand is added, jobs that synced earlier with that brand's value only pick it up on a full jobs resync. Ask Boostie Support to run one after adding a brand.

When a Job Changes Brand

If you change a job's brand in Bullhorn, the job moves to the new brand's board with a new URL. Boostie updates the job links it writes back to Bullhorn and notifies Google for Jobs of the new URL. The old URL stops working and drops out of Google on its next crawl.

Step 2: Set Up Each Brand in Company Settings

Access path: Settings → Company.

  1. Fill in Corporate Details once. These are shared by every brand.
  2. In the Brand Settings card, pick a brand from the dropdown in the top-right corner. Everything in the card loads for that brand.
  3. Click Edit Branding Details and set the brand's logo, primary button color, primary button text color and about description. Click Save.
  4. Click Edit Website Details and enter the brand's home page URL and job page URL.
  5. Copy the brand's tracking code and paste it into the header of that brand's website.
  6. Switch the dropdown to the next brand and repeat.

Each Brand Has Its Own Tracking Code

Every brand's tracking code includes a line, window.bstBrandId, that tells Boostie which brand's site the visitor is on. On that site, Boostie uses the brand's tracking rules, shows the job alerts popup in the brand's colors, and matches visitors only to that brand's jobs.

Have company pages that aren't any single brand's site? Install the code there with the window.bstBrandId line removed. Those pages are still tracked for visits, but show no job alerts popup, no board embed and no job event rules.

Step 3: Configure Each Brand's Job Board

Access path: Jobs → Job Board Settings.

  1. Pick a brand from the dropdown at the top of the page. The page loads that brand's board.
  2. Configure Design, Layout, Marketing & SEO and Job Posting Settings for this brand. Rewrite Job Summary and Fine Tuning apply to that brand's jobs only, so each brand can have its own voice.
  3. When the board is ready, toggle Activate on for that brand.
  4. Switch brands and repeat.

Each brand's board lists only its own jobs, and its category, location and shift filters come from that brand's jobs. Each board also gets its own sitemap, its own social share image built from that brand's logo, and its own Google for Jobs listings showing the brand's name, logo and website as the hiring company.

Working with Jobs Across Brands

  • Jobs list: a Brand column shows each job's brand or No Brand. Use the Brand filter to list one brand's jobs, or pick No Brand to find jobs whose Bullhorn value needs fixing.
  • Job record: the job header shows its brand.
  • Filtered Jobs Link Creator: pick a brand first. The link points at that brand's board and uses that board's filters.
  • General Application: it has no brand of its own and opens on every brand's board. On its Apply Form tab, pick a brand from the dropdown to get that brand's link.

Job Apply Rules and Job Feeds

Multi-brand accounts get a Brand condition when building Job Apply Rules and Job Feed filters. Set it to Is or Is Not one or more brands, for example to apply a screener to one brand's jobs or send one brand's jobs to a feed.

  • Job Feeds cover the whole account unless you filter by Brand. Each job in a feed carries its own brand name as the company.
  • Rules don't re-run on their own when a job's brand changes. After first assigning brands, go to Apply → Job Apply Rules and click Sync Job Apply Rules to Existing Jobs.

What Candidates Experience

  • Applicant emails (application confirmation, incomplete application and screener reminders, job closed updates) come from the brand of the job they applied to, with that brand's name as sender, its logo and colors, and links to its board.
  • Job alerts and match emails never mix brands. A job seeker follows the brand they most recently signed up for job alerts on, or whose board they last visited while signed in. Job seekers with no brand yet get the brand of their best-matching job, and every job in that message comes from it.
  • Signing in: a job seeker who signs in on one brand's board is signed in on all of your brands' boards. The login code email is branded for the board they signed in on.
  • Workflow previews: on a workflow's email or text preview, pick a brand to see exactly what that brand's candidates receive.

Current Limits

  • General Application applicants don't receive confirmation or reminder emails on a multi-brand account, since the General Application has no brand to send them under.
  • Campaigns, display ads, landing pages and the Retarget Recent Visitors campaign aren't available for multi-brand accounts. The display ad image setting is hidden in Branding Details.
  • Dashboard, web analytics, visitors and reporting cover the whole account, not individual brands.
  • Removing a brand (through Boostie Support) turns its open jobs into No Brand jobs, which leave every board, and moves its job alert subscribers back to brand-by-best-match.

Why It Matters

Each of your brands looks and feels like its own company to candidates, with its own board, domain, emails and Google listings. Your team still runs everything from one Boostie account and one Bullhorn database.

Bottom Line: map the Brand field, set up each brand's branding, website and board, and every job lands in front of the right audience under the right name.
